Earthwork and Pile Estimations

Lay down a digital blanket

How can a drone estimate quantity?

Step one - We scan a site.

Step two - We create a digital blanket over the ground and all piles. It's called a mesh.

Step three - We digitally circle areas (piles, mounds, retention ponds, etc) on the mesh and slice them off with a defined cut plane (either a elevation or a design file surface).

Step four - Software calculates the cubic yards between the cut plane and the mesh.

Step five - We provide a report of our findings.

*In some states, we'll need to work with your surveyor.

EARTHWORK & PILE ESTIMATIONS

Track buckets.

One 3D model tells you:

  • Topography / elevation

  • Slopes / grades

  • Cubic yards / quantities

Two models from different dates tell you more:

  • Topography changed

  • Grades changed

  • Cubic yards moved

High & Low Visual Estimation

Design vs. Actual. Fight!

When we create a digital surface model of your site, we can compare it to your design file. Why?

  • See variance in elevation from design to actual

  • Cubic yard variance in an area, or over the whole site

CUSTOMER REVIEWS

"I just wanted to let you know how versatile your drone work is, and that I have been able to use the drone photos and data that you have recorded for IA Management in several ways. I was able to get accurate bid measurements... I just want to say thanks for your work and to let you know it has paid great dividends for IA Management."
